Witte de With's journal, dating from 17 September 1652 has the same figures as these.
Carl Stapel wondered if Captain "Belevelt" might be some corruption of Joost Bulter's name, although I am less sure. The other ships are the Frisia, possibly the Gelderland, and the Breda.

The mysterious captain Belevelt
