I wondered what the burden is for the Amsterdam ship the
Vrijheid built in 1651. I also wondered if the
Jaarsveld built the same time was of similar dimensions: 134ft x 34ft x 13-1/4ft. It could have been as large as 300 lasts, although I would guess something more like 270 lasts. If the typical factor was something like 196, then the burden would definitely have been 300 lasts.
